So, You Want to be a Writer

Writing online and getting paid for it is both easy and more difficult than most people starting out think. While it is easy to get your first article, poem or short story published, it is often difficult to generate revenue for your work once you have it published.

While some sites promote your work for you, many leave it up to you to promote your work. Beginners may find themselves spending as much time promoting their work as they do writing.While this is often frustrating and may seem like a waste of time it is necessary if you want to get people interested in reading your work and generate income.

There are generally two ways writing websites pay their writers. Pay per view ( which means you earn a penny for every so many views your article recieves) and Up Front payments (you are paid for the article itself). Some sites have a combination of these two payment plans and others have additional ways to earn money. How a site pays will be covered under each individual website.
